- In 1985 I left college to go to work in the flooring industry. I began as a carpet installers helper. In just a few short months I was working for myself. I worked for many years installing carpeting and vinyl in homes throughout RI. In the late 1980's there was a great deal of new construction and enough work to keep me busy seven days a week. As time went on I focused on hard surface floors. Pattern scribing is a skill that many young installers do not have experience in. There was a large demand for these types of installers. I decided that this would be the best way to stay busy so I developed the ablity to pattern scribe. I installed a large amount of linoleum over the years. A grandson of a carpenter, I eventually got into wood installation. I am also a musician and love to be creative in my work. I consider myself to be a craftsman not a floor installer and that is the way I approach my job everyday.
