Plan your next special event or gathering in The Hot Spot Pottery Painting, Candle Making & more! Our bright and spacious studio is located in Liberty Station, Point Loma, close to the new Public Market and Stone Brewery. Create your own masterpieces with music playing in the background, and have a fun and unique experience that everyone can enjoy! Our projects include pottery painting, candle making, sand candles, succulent gardens, mosaics, canvas painting, and slime making, and our experienced staff will be there to guide you through it all. No prior experience or age limit is needed. Feel free to bring along anything from the Public Market – coffee, wine, beer, snacks, etc. – or you can use our resources such as books, stencils, and stamps to make each project even more unique. Our average price is $26 per project and includes everything you need. Candles, mosaics, canvas painting, slime, and gardens are ready to take home on the same day, while fired items will take 2-3 days. We are open 7 days a week, with drop-in or booked sessions available. Large groups are welcome! Plus, we now have a Private Party Room – The Chandelier Room – which is equipped with its own mini fridge, paint bar, and speaker for your own music choice. All paints used are washable and non-toxic, and all fired pottery is food and dishwasher safe. Come join us and have some fun!You can trust our team to provide you with the best advice and service. The Mad Potter
At The Mad Potter, we offer an exciting art experience for everyone from 2 to 92. Our pottery studio provides a range of pre-made ceramic pieces in different shapes and sizes, such as coffee mugs, frames, plates, pet bowls, piggy banks, and figurines. Individuals and groups can get creative with our selection of designs, tools, and idea books, as well as our helpful instruction. We welcome walk-ins but also encourage reservations for larger groups. The Mad Potter is the perfect place to host your next event, whether it's a children's birthdays, adult birthdays, corporate team building, bridal showers, baby showers, alumni gatherings, field trips, or boy/girl scout events. We also specialize in custom projects, including auction projects, fundraisers, gifts and awards, and tiled benches, tables, and walls. For every occasion, from birthdays to Valentine's Day, baptisms, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Teacher Gifts, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, anniversaries, and weddings, we have the perfect gift. We even offer handprinting and footprinting for babies, toddlers, and pets. Weekly specials at The Mad Potter include Social Media Monday, when items posted on our Facebook and Instagram are 50% off; $2 off studio time on Tuesday; free paint Wednesday on the first Wednesday of each month; Thirsty Thursday for wine and pottery painting; and Date Night on Fridays, where couples can take part for just $15.

Color Cocktail Factory is a creative space founded by MFA grads from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where novice practitioners can learn painting techniques in a relaxed atmosphere. They offer BYOB painting lessons and various other activities such as pottery painting, painting events, terrarium and gardening, all with vibrant themes. Located at 917 W 18th Street, Color Cocktail Factory encourages students to explore their creativity while having fun. The professional painters, illustrators, and printmakers at Color Cocktail Factory are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others. From miniature gardens to naughty night figure paintings, they provide guided projects for each student that results in a unique and personalized piece of art.
