About the Business

Harold B. Stein, an attorney with a JD from UW law school, started Niets Property Management (Niets PM) in 1954 when he purchased several four-family apartment and townhouse buildings. After receiving an honorable discharge from service as an officer at Fort Benjamin Harrison after the Korean war, he leased them to tenants under the business name Niets Rental Agency. Since 1992, the business has expanded to include more apartment complexes, a commercial office building, and a retail strip mall.

Robert D. Stein, who holds a BBA in Accounting and a BSME in Mechanical Engineering, and his wife Karen G. Stein, who has a BS in Education, are now the proprietors of Niets PM. The family business is devoted to providing onsite service of tenant needs, conducting operations in compliance with local and state building codes.

Tenants enjoy comfortable and well-maintained properties with many amenities, such as snack vending machines, onsite laundry, updated LED fixtures, video cameras, high security locks, and state-of-the-art high efficiency boilers and water heaters. As energy efficiency is a major focus of the company, Niets PM invests in lighting and heating systems that are both efficient and cost-effective.
