- I have been practicing accounting and/or law in the Twin Cities since 1990. My client's and their opportunities help define me and my work. The ability to dissect at an issue from both a legal and a tax perspective gives me a more comprehensive view of my client's situation. Understanding the tax ramifications of the law is quite helpful when working on an estate plan or a business transaction. My estate planning interests led me to become a trustee for several of my clients over time. That service is one that has been a rewarding part of my practice. I enjoy servicing others, and the fiduciary relationship a trustee plays in a person's life can be a very important and challenging role. I put the law, accounting and estate planning practices together when deciding to obtain my certification for business valuations. It brings my accounting background, by analysis of the various valuation techniques, and my law background, researching and drafting the document, into one exercise.
