About the Business
GT Midwest was founded in 1946. Nick Onofrio joined the business in 1984 and at that time it was focused on industrial insulation and rubber products such as hoses, gaskets, belting, and urethane. The business split at the end of 1985 with Nick taking the Wichita operation and the other owner taking the Tulsa operation.
Since then, GT Midwest has expanded significantly. They have increased their staff to almost 160 people across four states and expanded their product offerings through acquisition and organic growth. Notable acquisitions include Ranger Rubber in Omaha in the early 90s, Midwest Bolt and Supply in Kansas City in 2000, and Bolts, Etc. in Omaha in 2015. As a result, the company rebranded itself as GT Midwest in 2001.
Today, GT Midwest provides materials and supplies to both manufacturing and construction industries throughout the region. They are based in Wichita and offer a wide variety of products.
