- Dan Burghardt Insurance Agency was started in April, 1984 so Dan Burghardt could provide affordable insurance coverage to clients that the big national companies did not want as customers. Mr. Burghardt always believed that anyone who needed insurance should be able to buy it, regardless of their circumstances, at the lowest price available. This commitment to the needs of all clients was rewarded with a positive community response that created rapid growth for the agency, going from one small residential office in 1984 to 6 commercial sales locations in 2005 covering the entire New Orleans area from Chalmette to LaPlace, employing 45 people and serving the needs of over 12,000 clients. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 created some temporary setbacks. But, with our persistent efforts to serve our clients immediately after the storm, we have been rewarded by the community with a return to 5 locations selling a braod range of insurance products for individuals, families and businesses.
