Whole house fans work by pulling in cool air from outside your home through open windows, circulating it through your living space and into the attic, and then out through the attic vents. This process can lower the temperature of your home and attic by up to 30 degrees Fahrenheit or more.
When using a QuietCool system, it is best to start cooling the area where you will be spending the most time, such as the kitchen and family room. As the evening progresses and the temperature outside drops, you may open other windows in other rooms. When it's time to go to bed, close all the windows except those in the bedrooms that are occupied. This will ensure each room has a cool breeze.
To get the most out of your QuietCool system, make sure not to open too many windows or any single window too wide. Generally, 3-6 inches of opening is sufficient to keep your home comfortable.
