- Ruben Castillo, owner of Baja Pool Plastering in San Diego, CA began his career in the pool plastering business in the early 1970′s working summer vacations. At the age of 22 he began working full time as as finisher with a couple of companies. Ruben worked on hundreds of pools as a finisher in the San Diego area to San Fernando Valley from Sylmar California to Santa Barbara, Malibu, Bel Air, West Hollywood, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Pasadena, LAX, Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Point Loma, El Cajon, Lakeside, Ramona, and every city in between. In 1984 Ruben Castillo started his own business as a Pool Plastering Company in the Los Angeles area where he was contracted to re-plaster hundreds of swimming pools. Ruben's plan was always to establish his pool plastering company in beautiful San Diego County and in 1988 he permanently took residence in the city of San Diego and has since been contracted to re-plaster swimming pools over all San Diego County.
