About the Business
- We offer financial products and services that meet the financial needs of our membership, invest in the technologies that allow them access to their finances when needed, and ensure that we will continue offering competitively priced products and services well into the future.
- USSFCU is a financial cooperative, owned entirely by our members and operated for their benefit. We differ from a bank or savings and loan because we are a not-for-profit organization. With no shareholders to pay, profits are returned to members in the form of lower rates on loans, higher rates on deposits, and technology. Much like a bank, however, we offer a full range of financial services to our members.
- Individuals can become eligible for membership in a variety of ways. For details about joining go to www.ussfcu.org/membership.

- The United States Senate Federal Credit Union got its start on October 8, 1935, when seven individuals decided to pool their resources together and chartered a new financial cooperative called the United States Senate Employees Federal Credit Union designed to exclusively serve Senate employees and their families. A full service branch and operations center were located in the Senate Russell Building. In 1984 we moved to the Senate Hart Building. In 1990 the name of the credit union was changed to United States Senate Federal Credit Union (USSFCU). Today the Credit Union's membership has grown to over 32,000 members and total assets exceed $520 million. We continue to serve our namesake, but we additionally serve the employees and families of over 130 Select Employee Groups located throughout the United States and the world.
