I grew up on a ranch and had the opportunity to raise cattle and grow corn. Afterwards, I went into the family real estate and property management business, which gave me the opportunity to develop my skills in management, business development, negotiations and financial accountability. I continued to hone these skills during my 25 year career in the heavy equipment and construction industries, primarily with Tjacobucci - Keller Williams Dealerships. During my time as Mayor of Burlington, Colorado, I was able to increase efficiency and accountability, raising reserves by 300%. This helped me to refine my abilities in building consensus among a group, negotiating with government entities at both the state and local level, understanding how city government operates and working with them and the public, all while meeting deadlines and budget.
