- Dedicated to the advancement of the Art and Science of Landscape Design. This nursery is the culmination of over 40 years experience observing Nature and studying Botanical Horticulture. The introduction of new species into California cultivation has always been the driving force for both my Landscape Designs and rare plant propagation projects, now needed more than ever as species extinction accelerates. I believe that our cities must become Secret Gardens where the vanishing Flora of Earth and the magnificent Biodiversity it represents can persist and thrive. For example I cultivate many near-extinct Hawaiian Natives remarkably suited to California. Collections+Expeditions: Brazil, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, West Indies, Central America and more have all yielded interesting Beauties and Ethnobotanicals deserving protection via cultivation. One of my great introductions is Abutilon venosum rescued from a 98% destroyed Brazilian Rainforest-I call it "Tiffany Lanterns"
