San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery

Located in the heart of San Francisco's Civic Center, the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery makes contemporary art accessible to broad audiences through curated exhibitions that both reflect our regional diversity and position Bay Area visual art production within an international contemporary art landscape. By commissioning new works, collaborating with arts and community organizations and supporting artist's projects, the SFAC Gallery's programs provide new and challenging opportunities for contemporary art to engage with a civic dialogue. The SFAC Gallery was founded in 1970 and is the exhibitions program of the San Francisco Arts Commission, the arts agency of the City and County of San Francisco. The Arts Commission Gallery works with an active board of advisors.

San Francisco Women Artists

San Francisco Women Artists (SFWA), founded in 1887, is an historic nonprofit arts organization that continues to support, promote, and exhibit  and sell the works of talented Bay Area women artists.   Our Inner sunset gallery hosts monthly, juried shows, showcasing paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry created by member artists. SFWA collaborates with other nonprofits, offers classes, student internships and hosts community events.   Event space is available for rental.  New membership applications are invited.

Caldwell Snyder Gallery

Caldwell Snyder Gallery specializes in 21st-century American and European paintings, drawings, sculpture, and limited-edition prints, including major American post-war and emerging contemporary artists. The gallery has developed a particular niche in introducing new collectors to European and Latin American painters and sculptors who have earned a following in their home countries but rarely shown in the United States. Established in 1983 in San Francisco, Caldwell Snyder Gallery has since expanded to two locations: Sutter Street in San Francisco's renowned Union Square district, and downtown St. Helena, Napa Valley, in the turn-of-the-century Star Building, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Dolby Chadwick Gallery

Established by Lisa Dolby Chadwick in San Francisco in 1997, Dolby Chadwick Gallery represents an international roster of emerging and mid-career artists working in traditional and hybrid media, including oil painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and photography. The Gallery seeks to exhibit articulate, visceral, and provocative new work, and to support its artists in the development of their creative processes and visions. Embracing a diversity of subject matter, styles that range from photorealism to abstraction, and approaches that prioritize both the aesthetic and the conceptual, the Gallery's program focuses on works wherein the artist's dedication to craft, observation, and materials is evident. A common thread throughout the work is an interest in exploring and redefining visual perception and optical effects--celebrating the unexpected surprise of sight and insight of visual experience. Gallery artists have been reviewed in Art in America, Art Ltd., ARTnews, Art Practical, ARTWORKS, The Huffington Post, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others. Artists have been awarded fellowships and honored by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the San Francisco Arts Commission, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Washington Arts Council, Academy of Arts & Letters, and the National Academy of Design.
