- Danzhaus Dance Center started as Third Wave Dance Theater on the corner of 24th Street and Mission, internationally admired as a vibrant multicultural dance center, featuring Brazilian sensation Betho Filho of ObaOba, Voodoo master Blanche Brown, and local favorite, Alonzo King (Lines Ballet), as well as for it's legendary late night raves. There, artist John Zane won his first "Best of the Bay" (SF Bay Guardian) for creating the Dance Performance workshop using video for dance instruction, and cowrote MTV's "The Real World". Evicted at the dawn of .com, he moved to Potrero Hill, where he choreographed and directed Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, three time "Best of the Bay" winner, and where Danzhaus continues to build on it's colorful past.
