- I was bored doing what I was doing and decided I needed a change. I started my business part time to continue to make money while I was getting my business off the ground. I realized I had a unique skill set. I could help be a lab manager to small start-up biotech companies so the company could grow. I found a company, quit my part time job and worked for this company for 6 months. Once the contract was done in March of 2009 I was now with out a job and no money coming in. With no new business on the horizon as the economy was bad, I decided I needed to change the direction of my company again. I belonged to a group and made the offer that I would scan their business cards for $10/hr and send them the file for them to download into a contact manager. Soon I was getting calls from other people asking for other administrative tasks and I was getting more business. I have grown, ebbed and grown over the last 8 years but have stayed the course. Learning to be flexible is good.
