The first step in all our projects is to create a master plan, with typical design fees ranging from $7,500 to $25,000. To carry out the plans we require a minimum starting budget of $60,000. Transplanted to Portland in 1991, classes at PCC's Landscape Technology Department included classes in design, drafting and plant identification. 6 years at Tsugawa Nursery in Woodland, Wa. in Sales, Design and Nursery Merchandising taught this designer to think on her feet and Design-on-the-Fly for customers seeking solutions. It also brought a deep knowledge of plant varieties, their attributes and care, as well as an opportunity to learn about and practice Japanese Garden Design principles in the context of the Pacific Northwest. Amy has developed strong relationships with artisans and craftspeople in the landscape trades. She brings this team to her clients where she works collaboratively with them to expand their vision and improve their view.
