About the Business
Garden Stories is a sustainable landscape design/build business that offers alternatives to traditional resource-intensive landscaping solutions. Our services include designing and installing rain gardens, edible gardens, native gardens, dry-gardens, eco-lawns, natural meadows, and more. We are licensed and bonded, providing full design and build services, as well as consultation services for DIY gardeners.
Our team provides a range of garden care services, such as aesthetic pruning of small trees and shrubs, regular garden care (weeding, mulching, detailing, compost tea application, etc.), integrated pest management, and organic approaches. Additionally, we offer design and consulting services to help guide do-it-yourselfers in the best practices for training a grapevine and designing an entire garden.

- Licensed, Bonded and Insured. LCB#9161 Garden Stories evolved out of a love of native flora and the natural ecosystems of the West Coast. After working many years in conservation and ecological restoration Garden Stories was born out the desire to provide consumers with alternatives to the conventional landscape. Our intent is to bring sophisticated, low-maintenance designs that are firmly rooted in the context of the Pacific Northwest. James was formerly a manager of the Gardens at Edgefield in Troutdale, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in PNW horticulture and gardening.
