Florida State University (FSU) has announced the creation of the Nursing and Artificial Intelligence Innovation Alliance, a transformative initiative designed to address the dual challenges of nursing shortages and technological integration in healthcare. Launched on October 16, 2024, this groundbreaking program seeks to reshape the future of nursing by combining traditional caregiving expertise with cutting-edge AI applications.
The alliance will be housed within FSU's Institute for Digital Health and Innovation and will introduce the nation's first Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program specializing in healthcare artificial intelligence. Rebecca Love, a renowned nursing innovator and entrepreneur, will lead the alliance. Love made history in 2019 as the first nurse to deliver a TED Talk about the profession, showcasing her deep commitment to nursing advancement. She will be joined by co-directors Jing Wang, Dean of FSU's College of Nursing, and Lisa Hightow-Weidman, PhD, a distinguished scholar in digital health research.
