The Light Brothers
The Light Brothers is a family business with roots stretching all the way back to the late 1800s. Three brothers had arrived from Sicily, looking to make it in America by manufacturing brass beds. However, when the electric lightbulb was introduced, they saw the potential of this new technology and decided to pivot their business model to focus on producing lamps and lighting fixtures. Their hard work paid off, as their business quickly took off. In 1903, they opened their first retail store on the corner of Lake and LaSalle Streets in Chicago, and continued to serve the area for 70 years. In 1982, the company moved to its current location in Lombard, IL, establishing itself as a community staple.
