Gore Place

Gore Place is a historic house and museum that has been named a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can take guided tours of the property Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Each tour is approximately 45 minutes long. Gore Place is the Federal period estate of the former Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore. This mansion is renowned for its beautiful furnishings, earning it the title of "The Monticello of the North" among architectural historians. The mission of the Gore Place Society is to promote and preserve the 1806 estate of Christopher and Rebecca Gore as an educational resource to demonstrate early 19th century American life. The estate still has a small farm with sheep, goats, poultry, and a Farm Stand which sells vegetables produced with organic practices. Any extra produce is donated to local food pantries and shelters. Gore Place has multiple programs throughout the year, including rental opportunities. Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) in Core-Columbia is proud to present Downtown at Sundown. This after-hours event takes place on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 PM and features free admission and guided tours of exhibitions at MCASD Downtown and SDSU Downtown Gallery. Visitors can enjoy a night of culture, craft beer from Stone Brewing Company, and delicious meals and beverages from The Flight Path Wine Bar & Bistro. The Downtown at Sundown series is organized by MCASD in collaboration with local partners SDSU Downtown Gallery, Stone Brewing Company, Downtown San Diego Partnership, and The Flight Path Wine Bar & Bistro.
