Since 1947, Lemay Concrete Block has been a family-run block manufacturer. Leonard Fred Detmer started the business when he could not find blocks for his own yard project. He made them himself using a single mold and hand crank mixer, producing 8" x 8" x 16" standard masonry blocks. Word got around and soon Leonard was selling blocks to neighbors too.
