Jeffrey A Long graduated from Portland State University with a degree in English, History, Political Science, and Psychology. During his time at PSU, he was also a four-year starter on the Viking Football team. He subsequently earned a law degree from Willamette University in 1986, and since then has been representing individuals and small businesses in court.

Jeffrey A Long is married and has four grown children. In his free time, he enjoys watching football and fly fishing in northwest streams and lakes. He is admitted to both the Oregon State Bar and US District Court, District of Oregon; 9th Circuit Court.
