In 1990, the Historical Society underwent a transformation to become the Atlanta History Center, located in the Buckhead district of Atlanta. Spanning 33 acres, the Center is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Atlanta and its surrounding areas. It houses a museum, research library and archives, two historic homes, a midtown campus and gardens. The Center’s museum offers a variety of exhibitions on the local history, while its library and archives provide access to thousands of documents and artifacts. Visitors can explore the two historic houses to gain insight into over a century of Atlanta’s history, or wander the two-acre midtown campus to visit the Margaret Mitchell House & Museum. Aiken Visitor Center and Train Museum
Aiken Visitor Center and Train Museum provides visitors and locals with information about Aiken, South Carolina. Their exhibits showcase the city's rich history and they host a variety of indoor and outdoor events. Patio and deck space is also available for use. Alcohol is not permitted onsite, but alcohol liability coverage is necessary if alcohol is served.
