- Gahanna was declared the Herb Capital of Ohio by the state legislature in 1972. Jane "Bunnie" Geroux spearheaded the effort and founded the Ohio Herb Education Center, a place where the community and visitors could come and learn about the many uses of herbs. In accordance with its mission, the Ohio Herb Education Center provides diverse herbal education classes, events and products. The Nafzger-Miller house, in which the Herb Center is located, is listed in the National Register of Historical Places with the original structure being built in 1855 and additions made to the home in 1910. The center includes a gift shop, parlor and kitchen and is used for classes, parties, meetings and rentals. It is a frequent destination for tours and the general public.
