About the Business
Mechanical Electrical Systems Inc. has been in the motor controls business since 1979. In 2009, MES developed and patented BLINKLESS® technology, which was used on the MicroGreen Project, a State of Indiana/ARRA grant for SAIC. This project entailed combining Lithium-Ion batteries, a methane fuel source, a generator, photovoltaic panels, and their control system on a 53 foot mobile power trailer.
Taking this technology further, Mechanical Electrical Systems designed, built, and delivered a 45kW BLINKLESS® control system for the Hybrid Power Trailer (HPT). This was demonstrated by the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) at the Network Integration Evaluation (NIE 16.1) in Fort Bliss, TX. It was one of the eleven technologies selected to move forward in the final report.
In 2014, MES designed, built, programmed, and started-up two BLINKLESS® 250kW systems for the SPIDERS Project in Camp Smith, Hawaii. Additionally, they used the same industrial inverter from these BLINKLESS® designs, integrated into (2) dynamometer control systems for the US Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Detroit, Michigan. Currently, MES is constructing a Viper helicopter dynamometer control building for Aberdeen Proving Ground, in Aberdeen, Maryland.
