In the 1970s, Melvin B. Cooper, the son of Harry S. Cooper, imported the first electronic calculators to the Memphis area. This was followed by the introduction of electronic typewriters and programmable calculators.In 1974, the third generation of Coopers joined the business when Lee Cooper worked fulltime for the company following many summers in the business.
