- We have a French Victorian home built in 1871, with such craftsmanship, you have to see it to believe it. The home was built by Amos Woodruff, sold to the Fontaines, then to Mrs Rosa Lee (who helped start the Memphis School of Art), then given to the City of Memphis. The Memphis Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities (APTA) has leased the property from the City of Memphis since 1961. The Memphis Chapter of the APTA did renovations on the house from 1961 to 1964.
