- Established in 1980 as "The Tidewater Children's Museum" by volunteers the basement of Portsmouth's Main Library. Moved to High Street in 1984 and to its final and current location in 1994. Following two years of major renovations, the museum reopened in May 2011 with over 70,000 square feet of new exhibits.
