Publisher Info

  • The Maritime Building was built as an 10-story commercial building located in the Central Business District of New Orleans. Designed by notable New Orleans architect, Thomas Sully, the building represents an early use in New Orleans of the Chicago-style skyscraper form. In 1922, the building was altered and added on to via Emile Weil (also a notable New Orleans architect), alterations included the addition of the 11th floor and lengthening of the Carondelet Street side by two bays. In 2013, Wisznia | Architecture + Development rehabilitated the Maritime into 105 residential units.
