- On Friday, January 28, 1944 the establishment of the International House, the predecessor of the World Trade Center of New Orleans, was announced to the world. Beginning with the establishment of the International House, a world-wide league of trade centers was formed in New Orleans in 1968. This league would come to be known as the World Trade Centers Association, which today encompasses 300 World Trade Center organizations in nearly 100 countries. Today we are dedicated to pursuing more opportunities for our members and demonstrating to the world that Louisiana offers opportunities and advantages that are conducive to establishing and maintaining successful businesses.
