About the Business
Kids Like Clay is an organization dedicated to giving children a chance to learn the basics of pottery-making. They offer classes, clay, tools, and glazes so that kids can create their own works of art. Their after school programs are currently running in San Diego Unified, Lakeside Union, Santee, and La Mesa/Spring Valley districts.
The team at Kids Like Clay have years of experience helping children understand and appreciate the art of pottery-making. They provide a safe and creative environment for their students, while also teaching them the fundamentals of the craft. Their projects are designed to help children develop their skills while encouraging them to express their creativity.

- Our son was attending a kindergarten class at Winter Gardens Elementary and I did a pottery wheel throwing demonstration at the school. We had the kids make some work at the demo and then I fired it and gave it back to the students. The office thought it was really cool and asked us if we wanted to start an after school program. Then, later in the summer of 2014 my wife and I came up with the name Kids Like Clay. We started with one school and slowly added more. Now we have 8 schools. We are really excited to see all these kids making ceramic art. They are all very creative - especially 5-8 year olds.
