- Why Tomboctou? It is the name of the old and magnificent center for arts, commerce and culture in the center of Africa (Yes, it is the same as Timbuktu.) For over 30 years, we have been serving our community offering unique imported gifts and home décor ideas and an array of cultural events and workshops that include traditional craft making and the discovery and appreciation of the rituals and festivities of the ancient cultures of the Americas. Our store is located on San Diego's historic Adams Avenue, right in the heart of Normal Heights. Whether it's a gift you are looking for, or something to treat yourself with, your experience here will be anything but ordinary. We are well known for our fair prices and we're sure you will always find a gift that fits your budget. Browsers are always welcome!
