About the Business
The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London is a Victorian masterpiece that has been lovingly restored, and is being hailed as London's most romantic building. Sir George Gilbert Scott designed this grand Gothic Revival structure with the intention of creating a luxurious and fantasy-like experience for its guests when Queen Victoria opened it in 1873. Innovations such as ascending rooms and revolving doors heightened the awe-inspiring atmosphere.
The hotel features beautiful metalwork, hand-stencilled wall designs, gold leaf ceilings, and a grand staircase - all of which have been carefully restored to their original glory. Sir John Betjeman declared the building too beautiful and romantic to survive in the world of tower blocks and concrete, yet its survival against the odds is testament to the dedication of the restoration team.
