Experience: A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Tien, received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1999. He then enriched his interest in Biochemical Engineering Research and received a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2000, before pursuing a career in dentistry. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2005, graduating in the top third of his class. He obtained his Medical Degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed one year of general surgery where he was exposed to the fields of vascular, cardiothoracic, general and plastic surgery, internal medicine and the surgical intensive care unit. Introduction: Dr. Tien has received extensive training in anesthesia, dental implantology, bone grafting, dentoalveolar surgery, jaw reconstruction, facial trauma and head and neck pathology. Dr. Tien performs both traditional oral surgery and facial cosmetics procedures such as botox and filler, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, rhytidectomy, facial lesion and scar removal, otoplasty, and brow lift as well as cheek and chin implants.
