- The Hoosier Grove Barn was originally built by the Struckmeier family in 1888. The family moved to the area known as Hoosier Grove, in the 1870's. The barn and surrounding land was used to raise dairy cows. In 1955, the farmstead was acquired by the Landmeier family. They incorporated modern farming techniques that enable them to raise large crops of corn, soybeans, and pumpkins. It was the Landmeier family that establishes the annual tradition of selling pumpkins; a tradition which is still carried on by the Streamwood Park District. Owned and operated by the Streamwood Park District, this restored barn offers a cost effective alternative and th unique setting for wedding receptions, community events, private parties and small business or corporate meetings.
