47arts is a visual artist's community located in the center of Historic Germantown. It has been owned by E T Harris since 1981, and the building was built for the Henry Houston American Legion Post in 1929. 47arts offers six private artist's studios, three galleries and a communal stone carving studio. It also provides photography and multi media presentation space for hire. In the future, it is planned to have around 15 artist's studios available. 47arts provides its members a creative and supportive environment to develop their skills, explore their ideas and share their art with the public.
