Benita Cooper Design
Benita Cooper established Benita Cooper Design (BCD) in 2008. The full-service firm, based in Philadelphia, PA, and Haddonfield, NJ, offers a wide range of architectural and interior design services as well as construction management. Benita is a Registered Architect in both PA and NJ and has achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Design Professional status. She earned an MArch from Harvard University and a BA in Architecture and BA in Art from University of Washington. Benita's career began in 1995 and her work has been distinguished by awards from the American Institute of Architects and American Architectural Foundation. It has also been featured in several publications including Harvard Design Magazine, Architectural Record, Society of American Registered Architects Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, Foobooz and Eater. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Benita has taught college level studios and professional practice courses at University of Washington and University of Pennsylvania. She has also served as a design critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Boston Architectural College and Philadelphia University. Benita also hosts workshops and events for the youth of Philadelphia and Haddonfield to engage the community and inspire the next generation of designers and builders. Partners of this program include the Haddonfield Public Library.
