About the Business
Rockwood Ranch is a historic farmhouse located in the San Pasqual Valley. It boasts beautiful scenic gardens with views of the 23,000 acres of Rancho Guejito. This was one of the first settlements bought by Bernard B. Rockwood in 1885 due to its excellent soil and natural water sources. Today, it is used for various crops such as grapes, avocados, grapefruits, Cuties, and lemons.
At the Vineyard, guests can take a complimentary hayride tour of the groves and vineyards with any purchase. Live music artists are also featured on a regular basis. The ranch is kid and dog friendly, providing children with activities and allowing them to bring their own picnics. Shaded picnic tables are available but guests can also bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the grassy areas.
Private party reservations or groups over 12 can be arranged. The Vineyard also hosts weddings and other special events. Please contact us for more information.

- Join us on a journey back in time, to the Wild West, before California was even apart of the United States. Rancho Guejito Vineyards is one of the last remaining Mexican Land-grants, which was granted to Jose Maria Orozco in 1845. Over the years the property has grown from its original 13,298 acres to almost 23,000 acres, but has been untouched by time. The property has been described as a Ranch "that cattlemen see only in their dream." In addition to growing grapes, the Ranch is home to grass-fed cattle that roam freely, and hundreds of acres of citrus and avocado trees. While the Rancho Guejito winery and tasting room may be the newest addition to the Ranch, the art of growing grapes and creating delicious wines on the Ranch has a great history. The Maxcy Winery was built in 1850, and is said to be the oldest winery in this part of California. You can see parts of the original winery still standing. We admire the history of Maxcy's and aim to restore its legacy on the Ranch.
