San Francisco Women Artists (SFWA), founded in 1887, is an historic nonprofit arts organization that continues to support, promote, and exhibit  and sell the works of talented Bay Area women artists.   Our Inner sunset gallery hosts monthly, juried shows, showcasing paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry created by member artists. SFWA collaborates with other nonprofits, offers classes, student internships and hosts community events.   Event space is available for rental.  New membership applications are invited.

Creativity Explored

Founded in 1984 in San Francisco by a psychologist and an artist in response to the nationwide de-institutionalization of disabled people in the United States, Creativity Explored is a nonprofit serving the neurodiverse community with the ethos that creative expression and art is a human right. The studio and gallery have welcomed hundreds of developmentally disabled artists and facilitated their careers in the contemporary art world locally in the Bay Area and internationally. Visitors enjoy stopping in often to see the changing exhibitions, to meet and visit with the artists and staff, and to shop for incredible and affordable original art. Utterly original and so very human, the artwork made by Creativity Explored artists will expand your definition of what makes an artwork beautiful. Explore portfolios of over 130 practicing disabled artists offering up their drawings, paintings, collages, ceramics, embroidery, fashions, prints, and multimedia creations – all for sale or pure enjoyment. The gallery is home to rotating exhibitions curated by the teaching artists and staff, well-known artists and art professionals, and of course, the Creativity Explored artists themselves. Studio 23

Studio 23 acts as a studio and workshop during the day for artists and owners, Jessica and Wesley E. Warren.  The Studio is open to the public by appointment and for special events and often spotlights work by local bay area artists, film directors, performers, musicians and more. "Ideally, we want Studio 23 to provide a place for artists to conspire and inspire each other, as well as finding innovative ways to give back to the community. Abrams Claghorn Gallery

Abrams Claghorn Gallery believes that everyone has a unique story to tell through creative expression. We present over 80 local makers in our diverse collection of home goods and art for sale. We also feature local and emerging artists, rotating monthly in our gallery. We showcase works that allow artists to focus on concept and masterful craftsmanship. .There are a several positive results from choosing only local artists as vendors. Most makers in the SF Bay Area are women, and if we choose our vendors based on quality alone, then it naturally follows that we will have a very representitive sampling of the local community, meaning most items in the shop are made by women. And, that also means that with many other factors (culture, ethnicity, age, etc) we have an accurate sampling of the artist community at large. It is important to us that there are no ethical concerns for labor sourcing and few sustainability issues. We know personally 99% of the makers, and what their inventory is made with. None of the items we sell are made in factories. Almost all of the inventory is hand delivered, which means the vendor does not leave packing materials here, and any used by the vendor can be re-used for later transportation and delivery. Last, and very important, it is crucial to us that the vendors get paid a fair amount for the items we sell. That means we are not always as inexpensive as other places.
