In such an instance, we will perform replacement of any failed portions of a foundation. This can often be done as a "sister wall", a process which allows the existing facade of a building to remain unharmed since all work takes place under the home. 3. Earthquake / Seismic Retrofitting. Seismic retrofitting is the process of adding additional hardware, plywood, and framing lumber to the foundation of a building to protect it during seismic activity. We have provided this service to many thousands of structures, including single family residential and soft-story design solutions. 4. Foundation Upgrades. By viewing a building from three key perspectives (interior, exterior, and underneath), we are able to write a corrective prescription that is most appropriate to that particular building.
