The Cedar Cultural Center

The Cedar Cultural Center, referred to as The Cedar, is a non-profit performing arts organization and all-ages music venue that presents local, national, and global music. Its mission is to promote intercultural understanding through music and dance performances. The Cedar is located in the diverse Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has become well-known for its variety of musical genres, such as roots, folk, indie, experimental, bluegrass, Americana, blues, and more. The Cedar is dedicated to upholding artistic excellence and integrity, diversity of programming, helping emerging artists, and engaging with the community. It is the only venue of its kind in the Midwest, and hosts around 200 events each year, such as live music concerts, educational programs, workshops, films, dances, comedy, spoken word, and more. Established in 1989, The Cedar operates in a building that was constructed as a movie theater in 1948. Furthermore, it has programs like the Cedar Commissions, a local artist commissioning series; the Global Roots Festival, an annual free world music festival; and Midnimo, a program that presents Somali artists in month-long residencies all over Minnesota.

Steph's Creativity Corner serves as your one-stop shop for unique gifts, personalized items, educational toys, teaching supplies, craft classes and birthday parties! Steph is a certified teacher whose passion for art & education has led her to the birth of Steph's Creativity Corner. Customer service is our number one priority when it comes to what we do. We carry a variety of educational toys and craft kits that allow children to explore and create. Steph's background in education has made her aware of the need for teaching supplies on Staten Island- we carry a variety of supplies and learning aids and are always open for suggestions. Our personalized items are our number one attraction, because of the fact that they are entirely customizable with no limits on creativity. From party favors to storage bins and even wine glasses, we have it all. Craft classes are also held twice a week in order to give children the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Children also have this option when it comes to celebrating their birthday with us- our parties take crafting to another level. We offer graffiti, street art, and hip hop team building workshops which are hands on and culturally engaging for your next team outing.  We host our workshops everyday in our San Francisco (1000 Howard St) and can bring our activities to you (please inquire for details and costs).  Check out our website for our standard package offerings which are 2.5 hours long. The cost for the Graffiti Workshop, Street Art workshop, and Golden Era of Hip Hop Workshop ranges from $65 - $78pp depending on workshop size and selection.  All of our workshops have a customizable collaborative art experience to make the event and vision uniquely yours.
