Additionally, our members participate in Veteran of the Month ceremonies, Flag Ceremonies, Flag disposal, and Cell Phones for Soldiers drop off. Membership rates start at $20 per year for American Legion (for veterans), $25 per year for American Legion Auxiliary (for female descendants), and $20 per year for Sons of the American Legion (all male descendants).

American Legion La Mesa Post 282 is a veteran organization that provides bar and other services to qualified personnel. Located conveniently with easy access and plenty of parking, the newly remodeled hall can comfortably fit 200 guests with a capacity of 299. The hall is ADA compatible and can be rented out for various events like corporate meetings, ceremonies, banquets, concerts, private parties, weddings, and performing arts shows. 47arts is a visual artist's community located in the center of Historic Germantown. It has been owned by E T Harris since 1981, and the building was built for the Henry Houston American Legion Post in 1929. 47arts offers six private artist's studios, three galleries and a communal stone carving studio. It also provides photography and multi media presentation space for hire. In the future, it is planned to have around 15 artist's studios available. 47arts provides its members a creative and supportive environment to develop their skills, explore their ideas and share their art with the public.
